We have just come from a weekend on North Stradbroke Island, an island just off the coast of Eastern Australia and nor far from where we live. This is the place to see the migrating whales, from terra firma, as they head north to have their calves and then return to the south with their young ones. We were on the Gorge Walk at Point Lookout. Sitting on the rocks looking out to sea as the light was fading, watching the whales blow and breach is remarkable, but to see this explosion of colour developing before us is just amazing. The rainbow came straight out of the sea and stayed strong and bright and upright before our very eyes.
We sat in awe and marvelled at the show nature had laid on just for us.
