Open Drains

I can think of quite a few reasons why open drains are not a good idea and here are a few:
They overflow
They spread disease
They are unsightly
They dont make solid pavements
They get clogged up with plastic bags and other s....
This one was a new one to me though
Buses are drawn to them !
