Last night we had the good fortune to go to a concert by Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Fran and Steve kindly made the tickets available to us. We were treated to three wonderful pieces of music by the orchestra conducted by Ben Northey. This conductor is destined to go places. He was outstanding and I couldn't stop watching his hands directing the orchestra so ably and get the best out of each and every musician. The piece de resistance was Mussorsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition". The audience was overwhelmed, enraptured, resurrected. The best way to give some meaning and substance to this Easter weekend.
Last night's experience and enjoying the outdoors with the trusted pooch from next door completes the day while waiting for the arrival of a son. The southern hemisphere is slowly cooling down, the colours are more muted, the flowers have lessened, yet there is still so much to capture on our walks.
So a Happy Easter to all those celebrating today, with family get togethers, lamb on the spit, red eggs and our traditional flaounes and tsoureki.
